Wellington Airport Community Awards 2017 - Porirua winners announced

Congratulations to the Wellington Airport Regional Community Award Winners for Porirua that were announced this evening.
The Supreme Award went to Virtuoso Strings!
Virtuoso Strings provides tuition, rehearsals and instruments for free to the community in Porirua, and runs an open youth and community orchestra based in Cannons Creek. They aim to make music education and its social impacts accessible for all.

Runner Up - The Outpawed Rescue Trust
The winning community groups from Porirua will join winners from around the region for the Regional Award finals in late October.
ABOUT THE AWARDS
Every year, Wellington International Airport, Wellington Community Trust, and the five local councils come together to recognise the work carried out by community groups in the wider Wellington region. The focus of the Awards is to celebrate volunteers for their valuable contribution to society.
