Rydges Hotel construction project wins safety excellence award

Wellington Airport in collaboration with construction firm Arrow, received the safety excellence award at the New Zealand Institute of Building award ceremony held on the 24 August.

According to the New Zealand Institute of Building: “WIAL as a client are leading the industry in procurement of projects recognising health and safety as a key success element.

The judges could see that the project team from Arrow had accepted the challenge set by WIAL and have created an inspiring and effective health and safety environment on site.”

Wellington Airport won the safety excellence award for the third installment of their Safety Wingman’ campaign, developed in collaboration with Arrow. The programme aims to ‘take safety to new heights’ promoting positive worker engagement through all levels of site activities and fronted by ambassador and TV presenter from show First Crossings, Jamie Fitzgerald.
