A ‘Good Day’ for Wellington Airport – new multi-level bar and café open with stunning views

Wellington Airport’s terminal has a stunning new look with the opening of a new two-storey bar and café ‘Good Day’.
The two-story venue, operated by EVT, is open daily from 4am to 8pm offering a wide range of food and beverage in Good Day’s café, bar and elevated all-day dining space, showcasing some of the best views in Wellington.
Wellington Airport chief executive Matt Clarke says the venue is set to become a destination in its own right.
“Very few airports can match our stunning local environment and outlook, and this development makes the most of it.
“It has fantastic views across the terminal, runway and Lyall Bay. It also puts you eye-level with our spectacular bird spirit Manu Muramura, created by Wētā Workshop.”
Simon White, Country Manager, EVT Hotels New Zealand and Pacific, says EVT has an exceptional track record for delivering outstanding customer service and hospitality, and are excited to be operating the new venue.
“The EVT team have a well-established relationship with the airport with our Rydges hotel fully integrated into the main terminal building.
“Through our deep understanding of its customers, we have a well thought out food and beverage offering ensuring Good Day has something for everyone – whether you need a quick coffee to manage an early morning flight, food-to-go or a delicious meal during a layover – Good Day has you covered.
“The precinct has casual dining, baked goods, café bites, savoury treats, deli selections and a burger bar; everything travellers need to make the journey as great as the destination.”
The new venue adds 130 additional seats to the dining precinct and is part of a $20m upgrade of retail and hospitality sites, including a new duty-free provider and new technology, gifting, eyewear and beauty concept stores.
