Be in to WIN a model Qantas A220-300 plus a night’s stay at Rydges Wellington Airport!

Wellington Airport is thrilled to welcome the Qantas A220-300 to Wellington, with the inaugural flight arriving from Brisbane on Monday 2 February 2026. This will be the first time Qantas has flown the A220-300 on an international route, with the aircraft joining the Qantas fleet in early 2024.

To celebrate, we are hosting a WLG Qantas photo competition!

Submit your best Qantas photos!

We invite you to submit your best photos of a Qantas aircraft in Wellington. We want to see them all: old, recent, arriving, taking off, taxiing, tails, you name it - as long as it’s in Wellington! We also can’t wait to see your photos of the A220-300 operating on the Wellington-Brisbane route from Monday 2 February 2026.

Submit your photos (multiple entries allowed) and you’ll be in to win a desk size model aircraft of the Qantas A220-300, a night’s stay at Rydges Wellington Airport in a Superior South King or Twin Room with runway views, and a chance to feature on Wellington Airport social media channels.

There are six prizes to be won in total. There will be three prizes for general Qantas photos, and three prizes for photos of the A220-300. Terms and conditions apply. Competition closes 6 February 2026.

Prizes:

There are six prizes to be won in total. Each prize includes:

• A desk size model aircraft - Qantas A220-300.
• A night’s stay for two at Rydges Wellington Airport in a Superior South King or Twin Room, including breakfast and car parking. In prime plane spotting position, these rooms boast views of the south coast and airport runway, arguably the best sunset vista in Wellington.
