WLG Qantas Photo Competition terms and conditions

The rules for entering the competition are as follows:

Entry

• Entry closes at 9am Friday 6 February 2026.
• Entry is by completing the official entry form on Wellington Airport’s website and submitting an original photo of a Qantas aircraft in Wellington. 
• Multiple entries are allowed. Each photo must be submitted via individual forms. 
• Entries are open to all New Zealand residents.
• Wellington Airport employees or their immediate family members are not eligible to enter.
• If a winning entrant is under the age of 18, a parent or guardian will need to claim the prize on their behalf.
• Entrants will be required to complete this declaration: “I declare that the photograph I am submitting was taken by me personally. I confirm that I am the sole creator and copyright holder of this image and that it has not been copied, altered, or created using AI-generated or unauthorized means.  I further affirm that the photograph does not infringe upon any third-party rights and was captured in accordance with all applicable laws and ethical guidelines.  By signing this declaration, I acknowledge and agree to abide by the competition’s rules and terms”.

Prizes 

• There are six prizes to be won in total. There will be three prizes for general Qantas photos, and three for photos of the A220-300.
• Each prize includes: 
  A desk size model aircraft - Qantas A220-300.
  A night’s stay for two at Rydges Wellington Airport in a Superior South King or Twin Room, including breakfast and car parking. In prime plane spotting position, these rooms boast views of the south coast and airport runway, arguably the best sunset vista in Wellington.
• The prizes cannot be redeemed for cash and cannot be transferred or exchanged.
• The prize is taken entirely at the prize winner's own risk. You acknowledge that (to the extent permitted by law) Wellington Airport is not liable, and you release and indemnify Wellington Airport and any persons associated with the competition in respect of any claim, for any accident, injury, death, property damage and other losses that may occur in connection with the competition or any prize.
• Submitted photos may be used by Wellington Airport to promote the competition on social media, in each case without compensation.
• The winning photos may be used by Wellington Airport on social media, websites, newsletters, or corporate publications in each case without compensation.
• Where Wellington Airport uses a winning photo, a photo credit will be attributed to the owner.

Terms and conditions for Rydges Wellington Airport stay

• Prize cannot be exchanged or resold. 
• Room category is a Superior South King or Twin Room, subject to availability at the time of booking. 
• The guest will be required to present a credit card on check in, for any incidentals or additional meals during their stay. 
• The winner is responsible for paying all additional costs associated with the prize that are not specifically included, including transport, spending money, insurance, meals and all other incidentals.

Judging

• A Wellington Airport judging panel will select the six prize winners. 
• The panel will be looking for photos of a Qantas aircraft in Wellington. We want to see them all: old, recent, arriving, taking off, taxiing, tails, you name it - as long as it’s in Wellington! 
• The panel will also be looking for photos of the A220-300 operating on the Wellington-Brisbane route from Monday 2 February 2026. 
• The winners will be contacted by Friday 13 February 2026.
• If Wellington Airport is unable to contact the winners within seven days, the prize will be forfeited. In these circumstances, Wellington Airport reserves the right to offer the prize to another entrant of their choosing.
• Wellington Airport’s determination of the winners will be final and binding, and no correspondence or other communication will be entered into.
• The winners will be published on Wellington Airport’s website. 

Privacy

• Wellington Airport respects your privacy rights under the Privacy Act 2020. You authorise Wellington Airport, and other entities involved in events and related services, and our authorised service providers to collect, hold, use and disclose personal information about you (including your name, contact details, social media handles, and entry photo) to conduct the competition. Failure to provide the personal information requested in the entry process will result in the entry being invalid.
• Entrants may opt-in to receive promotional emails from Wellington Airport.
• This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook, or Instagram or their partners or application developers. By completing the entry registration form you are providing your information to Wellington Airport and not to Facebook or Instagram or their partners or application developers.
