Wellington Airport begins northern domestic lounge upgrade
Wellington Airport is kicking off a major upgrade project to its northern domestic lounge tomorrow to create a much improved, modernised and flexible space.
“The new area will have more space and natural light, new bathrooms, new seating and décor, and a new convenience offering,” says Wellington Airport chief executive Matt Clarke.
“The space will be flexible with areas able to switch between domestic and international, proving more space and capacity at busy times.”
The upgrade project will take place over the next 14 months.
“The main difference travellers will notice over the next year is that some Jetstar flights will be operating from the southern end of the terminal rather than the usual northern end they might be used to.
“Our key message for travellers is simply to check which gate your flight is departing from. You’ll find this information on your ticket, airline app or departure boards here at the airport.”
The international lounge remains fully open with all international flights continuing to operate from the usual northern end of the terminal.
