About the role

You will have the opportunity to learn from the best and will undertake work that includes a mix of financial and management accounting. Not only will you work at a detailed and transactional level, but you will also provide high level Executive and Board analysis.
You will be:
- preparing group annual report and half year financial statements
- providing comprehensive analysis of financial reports and reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
- champion the Finance Business Partner model within WIAL
- participate in the preparation of Annual Information Disclosure
- calculating income tax and deferred tax
- assisting with annual budgeting and planning and quarterly forecasts
- in conjunction with the Financial Controller, maintaining and enhancing financial information systems

About you
You have:
- intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- excellent interpersonal skills with a diverse group of Senior Managers and staff
- accuracy and attention to detail
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- drive for results
You are comfortable:
- building good relationships with a diverse group including senior managers and staff
- using a variety of databases and systems
- managing yourself and your time efficiently
Ideally, you have:
- a chartered accountant (NZICA or equivalent professional body) qualification with post qualification experience
- at least five years’ experience either in a medium to large commercial entity or with a Big 4 firm (audit or business advisory)
- high standard of technical knowledge, in particular financial accounting/ IFRS expertise
- experience with Power BI preferred
- strong management accounting experience
- strong working knowledge of income tax and deferred tax
- an appreciation of/an interest in the aviation industry
As part of our standard pre-employment requirements, you must be able to obtain security clearance from Aviation Security Services, complete a Ministry of Justice background check and pass a drug/alcohol test.
