About the role
If you are looking for a permanent Commercial Leasing Manager role that is varied and want to work with a diverse and high performing team, then this is the role for you.
This role reports to the Manager Property with a key focus on undertaking leasing and tenant management functions for Wellington Airport’s property and retail leases. This role will suit an enthusiastic person who has a broad commercial skill set, including commercial management experience, contract management and leasing.
You will be:
- Negotiating new leases and renewals as well as identifying new opportunities when required.
- Maintaining accurate records of Wellington Airport leases and concessions, including updating Wellington Airport’s property management software system.
- Actioning standard lease milestones including rent reviews, renewals, opex recoveries and expiries in a timely manner.
- Providing project coordination and management for Wellington Airport tenancies and leases which includes liaising internally and externally.
- Managing relationships with local tenant managers and operators.
- Meeting with existing major tenants to build and maintain strong relationships to facilities lease renewals.

About you
You have:
- Excellent people skills with the ability to relate and deal effectively with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders
- Good numeric skills and can understand budgets, projections and financial calculations
- The ability to work in both consultative and team environments.
You can:
- Carry out a detailed list of actions in line with specific protocols and delegations
- Work unsupervised to achieve set goals and prioritise work without the requirement for direct oversight
Ideally, you have:
- A tertiary qualification, preferably in property, legal, finance or similar discipline is preferred
- Excellent computer skills with proficient use of office-based software and the ability to work with a variety of computer systems at an end user level
- Excellent attention to detail
As part of our standard pre-employment requirements, you must be able to obtain security clearance from Aviation Security Services, complete a Ministry of Justice background check and pass a drug/alcohol test.
