Second phase of main terminal upgrade underway
A $15 million upgrade of Wellington Airport’s main terminal has begun its’ second phase, with the removal of the last air handling unit positioned in the middle of the airport’s main terminal commencing in April.
The upgrade covers approximately 6,000 square metres and once completed, will transform the terminal into a light airy space with expansive views across the coast.
Work will be carried out progressively over the next 12 months and as part of the staged upgrade, pop-up food and beverage outlets will launch alongside permanent food and beverage and retail operators.
Wellington sushi brand TJ Katsu will be the first food and beverage outlet to open, with Wellington coffee brand Mojo returning and specialty coffee bar Superfino also opening an outlet in the terminal.
Rydges Wellington Airport’s restaurant and bar Whiskey Lima Golf now serves breakfast, lunch and dinner to all visitors of the airport and during the development will launch a range of grab-and-go options.
