Wellington Airport Community Awards 2017 - Wellington City winners
10 Aug 2017
Congratulations to Polhill Protectors, the Wellington Airport Regional Community Supreme Award Winner for Wellington City.
In 70ha of scruffy regenerating gullies bordered by the suburbs of Brooklyn, Highbury and Aro Valley, something extraordinary is happening. For the first time in a century, rare birds like kaka and saddleback (a spillover from Zealandia), are living together with people, in the wild, in Wellington. Polhill Protectors are the dedicated patrons of the reserve, laying out the welcome mat with predator trapping and bush restoration.
