Travelling during Alert Level 1

We are now in Alert Level 1 and everyone can travel safely again without restrictions.
Almost all regional airlines are up and running again and you can reach all the great regional destinations you were able to before Covid-19*.
As with Level 2, you should avoid travelling if you’re feeling unwell, being tested for Covid-19 or need to self-isolate. It’s also important you wash your hands regularly and keep a record of where you’ve been and who you’ve been in contact with.
If you are visiting the airport but not travelling yourself, please look out for and scan the Government COVID tracing code or use the airport's text message option if you don't have the Government APP.
Travelling with Air New Zealand
During July and August, if you are flying with Air New Zealand, please note there may be changes to the gate locations for your flight. Check the flight information displays and your ticket for latest updates.
While New Zealand's borders are closed for entry, all international flights are suspended until further notice.

The Rydges Wellington Airport Hotel is open and taking bookings for both guest stays and conferencing. If you are planning to stay at the hotel, it’s a good idea to book ahead, although walk in bookings will be accepted. When you check in, the hotel staff will gather your information to assist with contact tracing if needed.
Ground transport and parking
Most services have returned to usual, with the following exceptions:
- The Airport Flyer services will run on weekdays only, during ‘peak’ times while air travel volumes and passenger numbers recover following the impact of COVID-19. For information about the service, visit Airport Flyer website.
- The grooming service at Valet Parking will not be available until further notice
