Airport Assistance

Our Airport Ambassadors and Airport Operations Team are available to lend a hand to people who may be having difficulty moving around the terminal.

Our Ambassadors are a group of easily approachable volunteers that can be found in the busiest areas of the terminal between the hours of 12pm and 4pm.

We have two airport customer assistance phones which connect you to our Airport Operations Team for assistance. These are located in the baggage claim area on level 0, and on level 1 just past the check in area.

Automatic Teller Machines ATMS


Our ANZ Bank ATMs have the following accessibility features

  • Pinpads have a dot on the #5 key, which allows vision impaired customers to determine the location of buttons on the pinpad
  • Ability to plug into ATM to hear voice commands for transactions (English only)
  • Japanese, Chinese and Korean languages

Boarding Calls

For people with impaired sight, please note boarding calls are only made in the passenger departure lounges - not in the main terminal building.


Our airport doors are automatic and wide enough for wheelchair access. 

Flight Assistance

If you require special assistance in relation to a flight, please contact your airline directly. View all airline contact details here.


Lift access is available between all levels – ground, first and mezzanine.

There is also a lift in the covered car park building. Our lifts are equipped with Braille keys.

Medical and Emergency Assistance

For urgent medical attention or in an emergency please call 111, additionally you can alert a staff member, call our airport team on 04 385 5100 or pick up one of our customer assistance phones located on level 1 and level 0 to be in contact directly with our Airport Operations Team.

They will contact the Airport Fire Service who will respond immediately. If required, an ambulance will also be called. Please do not hesitate to let one of our staff, or an airline staff member know if you require medical assistance.

The Airport Fire Service staff are trained in advanced first aid, and attend all medical emergencies at the airport.

Mobility Car Parking

Mobility car parking spaces are located in the Uncovered Car Park in the following locations:

  • On Level 0 in the undercover area (just past ramp to Level 1) view map
  • On Level 1 along the closest wall facing the Main Terminal building view map

Vehicles parked in these spaces are required to display a current disability card.


There are wheelchair accessible toilets in the main terminal area and departure lounges.

A unisex toilet with wheelchair accessible toilet and shower facilities is available for people who need to be accompanied by a helper of the opposite gender. The toilet is located in the new terminal extension area, next to the Icebreaker store.

Wheelchair Use

Airlines have wheelchairs available for use by passengers.

Please contact your airline directly if you require a wheelchair whilst at the airport, or any other assistance during your flight.
