Facilities Services Officer

If you are looking for a permanent Facilities Services Officer role that is varied, hands on, and allows you to put your trade skills to use and work alongside a high-performance team, then this is the right role for you.

You will be:

  • Working in the bag hall, clearing bag jams, clearing faults and minor maintenance tasks around the bag hall and airbridges.
  • Carry out other day to day scheduled and reactive maintenance work around the Airport Precinct
  • Ensuring tasks are carried out that meet commercial, regulatory and operating requirements
  • Interacting with a range of internal staff members and external contacts 
  • Incorporating and understanding appropriate safety responsibilities in all inspections and briefings

About you

You have:

  • technical knowhow and savvy to fix faults and undertake maintenance 
  • strong problem solving ability
  • great communication skills (verbal and written) and can understand, explain and be conversant with technical content
  • a flexible and positive attitude 
  • experience in building maintenance and construction.

You can:

  • Work unsupervised while ensuring tasks are completed within acceptable timeframes
  • Work under pressure
  • Understand safety issues and considerations

Ideally, you have:

  • The ability and desire to work shifts
  • Relevant Polytechnic and/or trades experience
  • Experience in a bag hall clearing bag jams and clearing faults
  • Experience in building maintenance or construction
  • An understanding of building services and practices
  • A full and current drivers license

As part of our standard pre-employment requirements, you must be able to obtain security clearance from Aviation Security Services, complete a Ministry of Justice background check and pass a drug/alcohol test.
